Using his TV show, Brad Meltzer&#8217;s Lost History, he told the story of the missing flag and asked Americans for their help in returning it. Four days later, a former Marine walked into a fire station in Everett, Washington, said he saw Meltzer&#8217;s TV show, and now wanted to return the flag. Meltzer recently unveiled the flag at the 9\/11 Museum in New York, where it is now on display.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"background: white; margin-left: 36pt\"><span style=\"color:#44546a; font-family:Verdana; font-size:16pt\">Known for his thorough research, Meltzer counts former Presidents Bill Clinton and George H.W. Bush as fans, and both have helped him with his research.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"background: white; margin-left: 36pt\"><span style=\"color:#44546a; font-family:Verdana; font-size:16pt\">In September 2006, Meltzer participated in a work group with the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Central_Intelligence_Agency\" title=\"Central Intelligence Agency\">CIA<\/a>, the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Federal_Bureau_of_Investigation\" title=\"Federal Bureau of Investigation\">FBI<\/a>, various\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Psychologist\" title=\"Psychologist\">psychologists<\/a>, and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/United_States_Department_of_Homeland_Security\" title=\"United States Department of Homeland Security\">Department of Homeland Security<\/a>\u00a0intelligence staff to brainstorm new ways that\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Terrorist\" title=\"Terrorist\">terrorists<\/a>\u00a0might attack the U.S.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"background: white; margin-left: 36pt\"><span style=\"color:#44546a; font-family:Verdana; font-size:16pt\">As an inspirational speaker, Meltzer&#8217;s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/TED_(conference)\" title=\"TED (conference)\">TEDx Talk<\/a>, &#8220;How To Write Your Own Obituary&#8221;, has been viewed over 50,000 times, and prompted TED to ask him to do another TED Talk: &#8220;Write Your Story, Change History&#8221;, which has been viewed over 80,000 times.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"background: white; margin-left: 36pt\"><span style=\"color:#44546a; font-family:Verdana; font-size:16pt\">Meltzer helped save and preserve the house where Superman was created in Cleveland, Ohio, helping to create the Siegel &amp; Shuster Society, then telling the story of the house and running an auction that raised over $100,000.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"background: white; margin-left: 36pt\"><span style=\"color:#44546a; font-family:Verdana; font-size:16pt\">Meltzer has worked with numerous organizations throughout Florida to promote literacy within the State. Meltzer has worked in the past with Florida Family Literacy Initiative, and is due to participate in the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Literacy_Coalition_of_Palm_Beach_County\" title=\"Literacy Coalition of Palm Beach County\">Literacy Coalition of Palm Beach County<\/a>&#8216;s 23rd Annual Love of Literacy Luncheon in March 2014.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"background: white; margin-left: 36pt\"><span style=\"color:#44546a; font-family:Verdana; font-size:16pt\">Meltzer was one of four authors selected to entertain at\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Barbara_Bush\" title=\"Barbara Bush\">Barbara Bush<\/a>&#8216;s 90th birthday party in 2015.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"background: white; margin-left: 36pt\"><span style=\"color:#44546a; font-family:Verdana; font-size:16pt\">Meltzer is responsible for helping save the life of his 11th grade history teacher. When his teacher told Meltzer she was sick and needed a new kidney, Meltzer asked his 100,000 Facebook fans to find her a new kidney and in the process, helped save her life.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"background: white; margin-left: 36pt\"><span style=\"color:#44546a; font-family:Verdana; font-size:16pt\">During\u00a0<em>Star Wars<\/em>\u00a0Night at the 2015 Marlins\/Mets baseball game, Meltzer threw out the first pitch of the game, then proceeded to fight mascot\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Billy_the_Marlin\" title=\"Billy the Marlin\">Billy the Marlin<\/a>\u00a0in a lightsaber battle<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\n\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family:Verdana; font-size:16pt\">Next in his list of projects is his current effort to raise money to fight breast cancer.  He is willing to match dollar-for-dollar up to $100,000 for the cause.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family:Verdana; font-size:16pt\">Brad is a shining example to us of how one person working together with others can make a huge difference!  I applaud him for this most recent project.
