A friend of mine was driving and saw this sign on the Interstate.  Wikipedia describes the location in this way:<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\n\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family:Verdana; font-size:16pt\">Bat Cave\u00a0is an\u00a0unincorporated community\u00a0in\u00a0Henderson County,\u00a0North Carolina, in the\u00a0United States. It is part of the\u00a0Asheville\u00a0Metropolitan Statistical Area. The community is located along Lake Lure Highway (US 64\/US 74A\/NC 9), 14.6 miles (23.5\u00a0km) northeast of\u00a0Hendersonville, along the banks of the\u00a0Broad River.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\n\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family:Verdana; font-size:16pt\">The community was named after the nearby cave which is inhabited by several species of bats,\u00a0on\u00a0Bluerock Mountain\u00a0(sometimes referred to as Bat Cave Mountain). It is the largest known granite fissure cave in North America and is a protected area, not open to the public.
