\nThe strong Name of the Trinity,
\nBy invocation of the same,
\nThe Three in One and One in Three.<\/strong>

I\u00a0bind this day to me for ever.
\nBy power of faith, Christ’s incarnation;
\nHis baptism in the Jordan river;
\nHis death on Cross for my salvation;
\nHis bursting from the spic\u00e8d tomb;
\nHis riding up the heavenly way;
\nHis coming at the day of doom;<\/span><\/strong>*
\nI bind unto myself today.<\/strong>
\n<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

I\u00a0bind unto myself the power
\nOf the great love of the cherubim;
\nThe sweet ‘well done’ in judgment hour,
\nThe service of the seraphim,
\nConfessors’ faith, Apostles’ word,
\nThe Patriarchs’ prayers, the Prophets’ scrolls,
\nAll good deeds done unto the Lord,
\nAnd purity of virgin souls.<\/strong>

I\u00a0bind unto myself today
\nThe virtues of the starlit heaven,
\nThe glorious sun’s life-giving ray,
\nThe whiteness of the moon at even,
\nThe flashing of the lightning free,
\nThe whirling wind’s tempestuous shocks,
\nThe stable earth, the deep salt sea,
\nAround the old eternal rocks.<\/span><\/strong>
\n<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

I\u00a0bind unto myself today
\nThe power of God to hold and lead,
\nHis eye to watch, His might to stay,
\nHis ear to hearken to my need.
\nThe wisdom of my God to teach,
\nHis hand to guide, His shield to ward,
\nThe word of God to give me speech,
\nHis heavenly host to be my guard.<\/strong>
\n<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Against the demon snares of sin,
\nThe vice that gives temptation force,
\nThe natural lusts that war within,
\nThe hostile men that mar my course;
\nOr few or many, far or nigh,
\nIn every place and in all hours,
\nAgainst their fierce hostility,
\nI bind to me these holy powers.<\/strong>
\n<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Against all Satan’s spells and wiles,
\nAgainst false words of heresy,
\nAgainst the knowledge that defiles,
\nAgainst the heart’s idolatry,
\nAgainst the wizard’s evil craft,
\nAgainst the death wound and the burning,
\nThe choking wave and the poisoned shaft,
\nProtect me, Christ, till Thy returning.<\/strong>
\n<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Christ be with me, Christ within me,
\nChrist behind me, Christ before me,
\nChrist beside me, Christ to win me,
\nChrist to comfort and restore me.
\nChrist beneath me, Christ above me,
\nChrist in quiet, Christ in danger,
\nChrist in hearts of all that love me,
\nChrist in mouth of friend and stranger.<\/strong>
