Posting Returns"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"shariff\" data-title=\"October 16 &#8211; Posting Returns\" data-info-url=\"http:\/\/ct.de\/-2467514\" data-backend-url=\"https:\/\/cms.shelquist.us\/wp-content\/plugins\/shariff-sharing\/backend\/index.php\" data-temp=\"\/tmp\" data-ttl=\"60\" data-service=\"gftr\" data-services='[\"googleplus\",\"facebook\",\"twitter\",\"reddit\",\"info\"]' data-image=\"\" data-url=\"https:\/\/cms.shelquist.us\/?p=461\" data-lang=\"en\" data-theme=\"colored\" data-orientation=\"horizontal\"><\/div><p><a href=\"https:\/\/cms.shelquist.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/johns-hopkins.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-462\" src=\"https:\/\/cms.shelquist.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/johns-hopkins.jpg\" alt=\"johns hopkins\" width=\"286\" height=\"119\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Today I gathered with medical professionals including chaplains from all over the state of Maryland.\u00a0 We met at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore MD.\u00a0 The event focused on community health partnerships.\u00a0 In community health partnerships health care delivery is structured to overcome the barriers that prevent people who need health care from receiving it.\u00a0 The most intriguing concept presented is that more health care is provided in private homes and apartments than any other setting, including hospitals and clinics.\u00a0 If the care provided is our homes and apartments are done well, the need for office visits and hospital admissions DECREASES!\u00a0 As the Baby Boomer generation enters the Medicare phase of their lives the old health care provision model will produce costs that are unsustainable.\u00a0 Moving to an increased focus on health care being provided outside the hospitals and clinics is the key to containing health care costs.\u00a0 For this to happen each community will have to develop plans that are designed for their locality that include partnerships with medical, governmental, and faith-based organizations who will all work together for the common good of their community and its citizens.<\/p>\n<p>If you are reading this and are thinking, \u201cThis won\u2019t be easy\u201d, you are correct!\u00a0 We have learned in life that other important changes that were necessary are not easy, and this important change is no different in that regard.\u00a0 I encourage you as you learn of discussions of new programs in your area arise to get involved in the discussion.\u00a0 This is a grass roots effort and there is a role for everyone in making it work!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today I gathered with medical professionals including chaplains from all over the state of Maryland.\u00a0 We met at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore MD.\u00a0 The event focused on community health partnerships.\u00a0 In community health partnerships health care delivery is structured to overcome the barriers that prevent people who need health care from receiving it.\u00a0 The &hellip;
