Our local newspaper reported that a resident of our county received a phone purporting to be from the IRS claiming that if back taxes were not pain, a bomb would be placed on the person’s car. This type of phone is ridiculous on so many levels. Here are just a few:

• It is not legal for the IRS or any government agency to make bomb threats.
  
• If the IRS was going to destroy your car you would be less able to pay back taxes than if you had use of your car.
  
• The IRS continually reminds the public they communicate by mail before a tax matter is ever handled by a phone call.
  
• The IRS has more right to break the law than anyone else, and bomb threats are illegal and can be considered an act of terrorism depending on how they are phrased.
  

Why someone would consider doing this boggles my imagination. This does show us that some people delight in causing misery and pain to others. I feel sorry for people who think this way, for they are missing the true joys of life!
