This picture appeared in my Twitter feed over the weekend. It shows the image of the U S Capitol Building and its reflection in the Reflecting Pool on the Capitol grounds. At first I saw this picture as an awesome view of the building and its reflection. The more times I have examined the picture the more I have been able to view it from a symbolic perspective.

We have just concluded an election season for the U S President that was as controversial and divisive as I can imagine is possible. Now the election is over and our national task is moving forward. I would love for our moving forward to be able to create a mood that projects tranquility as easily as this image does.

I don’t expect tranquility to come easily if it comes at all. I am taking a moment to dream about how national tranquility might appear. Please join me in the dream.
