When I was a child there were only 2 ways to deposit a check: take it to the bank or mail it to the bank. Now as an adult I have appreciated the convenience of using my smart phone to deposit paper checks electronically and not have to visit the bank at all. Today the bank computer system was not accepting mobile deposits, so I had to go use the ATM to deposit my check. That took my mind back to my college days when depositing a check in an ATM was something “brand new”.

Banking has continued to evolve just like everything else in our society. I must admit was a little bit indignant that I had to drive to the bank to make a deposit. I guess I should be glad I had a check to deposit. A lesson to learn the hard way.
