Today I attended a church where a friend of mine is pastor. She was presenting her Holy Humor Service. It was fun to see her action leading worship. It was also inspirational to see how much the members of the church cared for their mothers. One thing I enjoyed about the service is the balance it contained. Mother’s were respected and thanked but the institution of motherhood was not placed on a pedestal. Not a lot of memories of my mother are pleasant ones, and therefore Mother’s Day is a difficult holiday for me to get into on an emotional basis. The truth no matter what our relationship with our mother is or was; none of us would be without our Mother’s. So I pray that you had a meaningful time today as you relfected on your mother!
Mother’s Day is difficult for many of us whose mother is no longer on this earth or for those who so desperately want to be a parent, but have been unsuccessful. For those single-parent fathers, I hope you are celebrating as the duel parent role you hold. For those who have only fur children, celebrate that joy in mothering your pets. We can all find reasons to celebrate every holiday if we look a little outside the box, as you described in your previous post. Thanks for the insights, Chuck. Keep writing.

Hi, Thank you for reading and liking my blog! To answer your question I am using WordPress software which is free at WordPress.com. It just makes you selection options from choices they give you. I had options I need to or want to add to the blog but have not taken the time to learn how to implement them. To set up the blog and make my first post took about an hour. I already have my own URL so set this blog up through the server where “Shelquist.us” is hosted. If you use the WordPress site, blog will have the URL http://example_name.wordpress.com. I hope you keep on reading my blog and at some point try to start off on one of your own. If you come back here and post your blog URL here, I will read your blog! Happy Reading!
