Tonight I walked my dog several times. On our first walk we encountered two children who were arguing as they were swinging. Two hours later we saw the same children having the time of their life with no hint of tension between them. They had worked out their issue and moved forward in relationship with and to each other.
Like many of you too often we see people who are angry and they never find a way to let go of that anger. Cancer Treatment Centers of America have as part of their treatment sessions devoted to forgiveness because they see forgiveness has a direct relationship to how well our bodies heal. I find that profound!
This week a local man was arrested in our local Walmart for having a gun concealed in a shopping bag and acting in unusual ways to enough of a degree that it caught the attention of store security staff. The police came and hauled him away before anyone was injured. We were blessed not to become the next location of a gun shooting.
My prayer for our society is that through whatever mechanism it takes we learn to forgive and leave behind weapons of war as we journey through life. If young children can do it, surely we adults have the capability. All it takes is desire and commitment. The question is: “Will we rise up and meet the challenge?” Pray we do!!!!!
